Who We Are

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!’” - Romans 10 v 14 & 15.

Then [Jesus] said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful, but the labourers are few;  therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into his harvest.’” - Matthew 9 v 37 & 38

The Holylands Christian Trust exists to spread the life-changing message of the Gospel, and to assist in the raising up of a new generation of leaders (“labourers”) equipped to share the love of Christ both locally in Northern Ireland, but across the world. We are committed to assisting individuals, churches and organisations in the training and development of those called to Christian ministry.

The Holylands Christian Trust was born out of a vision of seeing more labourers being trained and equipped to proclaim the beauty of the Gospel of Jesus. The work of those engaged in Christian ministry is vital in supporting local people, communities, churches and organisations, and often comes with financial sacrifice. We do not want the fear of finances being a barrier to individuals or organisations considering full-time Christian ministry, particularly those in some of the most socio-economically challenging places in Northern Ireland. We took the name “Holylands”, primarily as this was the colloquial name given to the area, in south-central Belfast, where the founding Trustees attended and served at All Saints’ Church, Belfast, together. Some Trustees continue to serve at All Saints’ Church.

Our core purpose is to assist in the training and development of those who feel called to share the Gospel and serve in various ministry capacities. Primarily through financial supports, we aim to ensure that individuals are empowered and supported as they are equipped and prepared to go, tell and live out the good news of Jesus. The objects of the Holylands Christian Trust are as follows:

  1. To further the religious and other charitable work of All Saints’ Church, Belfast;

  2. To advance the Christian religion in any part of the world as expressed in the Holy Bible and the 39 Articles of the Church of Ireland; and,

  3. To support the raising and training of those in Christian Ministry.

A key part of our mission is building strong, strategic, and lasting partnerships - both spiritual and financial. We believe that by working together, we can multiply the numbers of people trained and sent out, thereby advancing and widening the reach of the Gospel.

Rooted in our commitment to stewarding the resources entrusted to us with integrity and excellence, we aim to support people to share their faith boldly, build Gospel-centred communities, and impact all nations with the truth of Jesus. Together, through prayerful collaboration and financial investment, we can help transform lives and further God’s Kingdom.
